A wet fly is designed to be fished below the water surface and resemble any Number of Dead insects that have gotten wet and are floating down stream.
A dry fly is designed to float on top of the water and is best when it resembles the current
hatch of insects that is on the river.
Therefore wet fly fishing is becoming more and more popular due to the fact that it is not such an
exact science, even placement of the wet fly to the proximity of the trout is not as crucial.

Wet types like the Wooly Bugger, Muddler Minnow and occasional use of a Doc Sprately hooked to a Wedding Ring type harness behind a lake troll is what I use when trolling the lakes in my area for trout.
